Retweets

When someone posts an interesting tweet, you may choose to retweet it. By retweeting, you share the tweet with your followers. If you found the tweet interesting, perhaps they will feel the same way.

To retweet,
copy the tweet and paste it in the tweet box.
Add “RT” (short for “retweet”) at the beginning, and add “@” before the username.
For example: tweax Anyone know a Twitter client that allows you to use multiple Twitter accounts besides Tweetdeck?

Becomes: RT @tweax Anyone know a Twitter client that allows you to use multiple Twitter accounts besides Tweetdeck?

As people retweet, a tweet goes beyond one person’s community. A popular tweet that many people retweet becomes viral, meaning that it spreads far beyond its source and beyond the reach of the
person who wrote it.

Request a Retweet Occasionally, you may want others to retweet for you. You can ask people to retweet by adding “please RT” or “please retweet” at the end of your tweet.
